ACTIVITIES 2013
 
2013.03.09 Symposium of Lean and Healthy Longevity
We cooperated with Taiwan Millennium Health Foundation to hold this symposium. In this symposium, we invited 3 Japanese speakers to share their opinions on preventing obese and disease for elders.
 
2013.03.17 Symposium of dietary nutrition and allergies
We cooperated with the Taiwan Vegetarian Nutrition Society to hold the symposium. This symposium focused on the daily care and food management in allergic patients.
 
2013.05.24-25 The 39th Annual Meeting of the Nutrition Society of Taiwan
The 2013 Annual Meeting was held at China Medical University, Taichung, Taiwan The major topic was “Obesity, Physical Activity and Cancer.” Around 500 members attended and 250 posters were displayed in basic and clinical nutrition divisions. Student member oral or poster presentation competitions were held, and the winners received awards.
 
2013.06.17 Symposium of “Crisis is a turning point: strengthening food safety management”
The aim of this symposium was to invite experts, industries, consumers and government to communicate and to solve the problems of adulterated oil and adulterated foods.
 
2013.10.05 The 20th annual memorial ceremony for Professor Jianmei Jiang
To celebrate the contributions of Professor Jianmei Jiang in pushing the establishment of the Department of Food Hygiene in the Taiwanese government and in promoting the food industry in Taiwan.
 
2013.11.03 Nutritional and Practical Aspects of Whole Grain
Fundamental Aspects of Cereals and Grains, Health Grain Project and Forum of EU, Perspective on whole grain intake and recommendation, Practical Aspects of “Whole Grain” Foods, Intact or Reconstituted: The Health and Nutrition Aspect of Whole Grain., Current status of development and application of whole wheat flour in Taiwan.

2013.12.29 Symposium on vitamin B12 and the health of vegetarians
This symposium introduced the appropriate way to use vitamin B12 supplement and showed the new sources and findings of vitamin B12.

2014. 01.17 Conference of the National Forum for Student Dietetic Internship Program (I)
The aim of this forum was to facilitate communication between training organizations (hospitals) and universities to standardize dietetic training programs. The universities and hospitals were divided into 3 zones by the locations. Each zone has 2 universities and hospitals to share their experiences.
 
2014.03.30 Dietician Continuing Education– The Workshop of Nutrition Therapy for Type 1 DM
The focus of this workshop was to introduce the therapeutic guidelines and special condition management, insulin therapy and application, nutrition therapy for T1DM patients in different life span, and the dietary modification after exercise. In addition, several clinical cases were discussed in the workshop.
 
2014.05.23-24 The 40th Annual Conference of the Nutrition Society of Taiwan
The 2014 Annual Meeting was held at Fu Jen Catholic University, New Taipei City, Taiwan. The major topic was “Nutrition care for cancer prevention and therapy.” About 600 members attended the conference, and 250 posters were displayed in basic and clinical nutrition divisions. Student member oral or poster presentation competitions were held, and the winners received awards.
 
2014.08.10 Workshop for Health Promotion-How to Lose Weight Healthily
The purpose of this workshop was to promote the program of healthy weight management in Taiwan. Dieticians, physicians, and nurses were invited to share their experiences in applying weight loss program in patients.
 
2014.09.19 Communication between Nutrition and Food Sciences
The purpose of this conference was to increase engagement and cooperation between Nutrition Science and Food Science. Special topic presentations focused on food safety, food additives and barriers and challenges in the foods and nutrition area.
 
2014.09.21 Dietician Continuing Education–Nutrition Therapy for Cancer patients
The focuses of the course included total patient care in cancer navigator programs, the myth and correct use of glutamine, healthy diet of cancer survivors, and natural anti-cancer approach.
 
2014.12.13 Conference of the National Forum for Student Dietetic Internship Program (II)
The aim of this forum was to facilitate communication between training organizations (hospitals) and universities to standardize dietetic training programs. In the conference, the universities and hospitals discuss the principles of student applications and the difficulties and challenges of the clinical teachers.
 
2014.12.13 Public Health Nutrition Symposium
The focus of this symposium included the effects of nutrition, diets, and behaviour factors on health on Taiwanese. The data of recent studies in Taiwanese were introduced.
